Typing Accents in Spanish

Create your own Spanish keyboard after following the steps below to type easily. (You'll still need to ctrl+' for vowels with accents using Microsoft) Here's the keyboard cover I used to write on; just make sure to get the one that's right for your computer:

How to Create Your Own Spanish Keyboard

Typing in Spanish can be a little tricky at first, with all the accents and upside-down punctuation marks, but it doesn't have to be. There's a few ways you can write perfectly punctuated, grammatically correct sentences on your computer:

Spanish keyboard Setting

If you are using a newer version of Windows on your PC, you can install a Spanish (or any language for that matter) on your computer. The easiest way to do this during the initial setup, but you can also add it later on by clicking on the language Icon shown below:

Click on “ENG” then select “Language Preferences”

My screen shows that Spanish has already been added, but you'll need to follow the next steps to set up your Spanish Keyboard.

“Language Preferences” will take you to the following screen. From here, you’ll want to select “Add a preferred language”.

This will ask you to choose a language to install. Type in "Spanish" (or any other language you'd like to add) and select your preferred dialect.

I have "Mexican Spanish" installed, but pretty much any of the Spanish options should work for you since the punctuation is similar among all of them.

After selecting the dialect you'd like, click next, and follow the instructions to install.
